My full name is Rita Yuk Ying Ng, and my brand name "YuYu Bear" comes from my initials. The pronunciation of "Yu" is similar to that of fish in Chinese, that's why I designed my logo in fish shape as shown on my photos.
I live in Hong Kong and have been making handicrafts since I was in secondary school. I learnt sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, needle felting, clay sculpture and so on. Then, I discovered the world of artist teddy bears and have been absorbed in it thereafter.
I had attended artist bear making courses in HK, and my thirst for improvement attracted me to Taiwan to take an intensive course in June 2009. With guidance from Elaine and Maggie of Dear Bear, I not only learnt the skills but also found the joy in creating individuality for each bear.
I dreamed of becoming a bear artist since then, and started designing my own pattern. I made my first bear from it and participated in a competition in Nov 2009. Luckily, my open mouth bear, "Fairy_love green", won the First Place in miniature category!
My interest in making artist bears grows as bears are born from imagination to lovable design♥. As a novice bear artist, I'll learn more and show my devotion to artist bears with better works.
