DaDa, 1st place (International artist) British Bear Artist Awards
I'm so thrilled that my panda, DaDa has won first place in British Bear Artist Awards (International category). And I'm delighted to know what the judges said about my bear:

"Delightful airbrushing on the eyes",  "Beautifully cub like",  "Wonderful shaping on the face". These valuable comments are an encouragement to me, and I'll keep designing and creating more lovable bears and friends in the coming year : )

Besides, I'd like to share with you a feature of YuYu Bear on the latest issue of "Pretty Toys" magazine from Russia (English version) No.4-2011.

Before and After

Oops ! Time flies and I didn't update my blog for a few months ......

This year, I'll be more active in the field of artist bears, besides working on a new website to better showcase my creations, will make better use of the blog & Twitter, too. Moreover, I've joined the Guild of Master Bearcrafters and Teddy Bear Artists and Friends, which are great sites to keep in touch with other bear lovers.

Before showing you my new bears, let's take a look of those who have moved to new homes. I miss them all

"Balloon" (10.5cm), made from my favorite green flock fabric, with a bling bling baby shoe charm.

"Fliss" (11.5cm), with "Y" embroidered on foot pad representing YuYu Bear.

This baby bear is 12cm tall, I made a mini sofa for him to play hide-and-seek.

Two pairs of wedding bears, made from mohair.

groom (19cm) & bride (18cm)

"Beano clown" (9.5cm) is placed 2nd in "Miniatures" of "Glaserner Teddybar" 2010.
He stays with me and is surrounded by his friends, it's hard to let them go !!

Having a good start in 2011 as I'm the lucky winner in the miniatures giveaway from the Winter issue of Teddy Bear & Friends (^O^)

Elf ------ love nature (19.5cm)

I'm so delighted that my bear (Elf ----- love nature) is one of the finalists for the People's Choice Awards at the Sydney Teddy Bear Fair 2010 (Category 4 : Dressed/Character or Fantasy Bears).

Elf lives in a forest full of apple trees and likes to play with ladybugs. He enjoys sitting under the trees and day dreaming. That's why I made drowsy eyes and a wobbling head for him : )

For clothing, a layer of linen is added upon felt to create a primitive look, in addition to a leather string with beads tied around his waist.

If you like him, please give him a vote at :

A New Beginning

SUCCESS bear : made specially for my hubby. It looks really like him with glasses : )

White collar + necktie + briefcase + TIME magazine (printed by hubby) = a smart looking bear who is very successful (appeared as the cover bear on TIME) !!!

I like this bear TIME magazine very much and asked my hubby to print two copies so that I can keep one for myself, haha ......

Waving for a taxi ...... have to chair a very important meeting !

TIME magazine's cover photo shows self-confidence, and I wish my husband's business thrives in 2010.

Before dressing up (25.5cm tall).

Looks chunky when compared with another bear I made before Christmas.

This slim bear is made of tipped mohair (38cm tall).

After dressing up, it becomes a Christmas Party Girl, a contest bear for Hong Kong Teddy Bear Awards 2009.

A breezy bear dressed in a one-piece pantskirt with lace drape on shoulder and a festive hat will be everybody's darling at Christmas parties.

Fairy ------ love green

Here comes my miniature bear (13.5cm), which is one of the nominees of 2009 Taiwan Teddy Bear Show & Creative Awards.

The process of making the open mouth was quite painstaking so as to get the shape right. What materials to use for a pair of wings was another challenge.
It took me much time & effort from designing, sewing to dressing, though the bear size is small. Attention to details is of utter importance in making miniature.

It's my first time participating in artist bear competition, I'm delighted that my creation is nominated in miniature bear.

Public online voting of 2009 Taiwan Teddy Bear Show & Creative Awards has started (26 Oct ~ 6 Nov). If you like my handmade bear : Fairy ------ love green (A-05) of category A (miniature bear), give her a vote, thanks :)
